The first ever Firefox driven mobile will be available in Spain later this week via Telefonica.
The O/S is written in HTML 5 and is primarily targeting the lower end smartphone marketplace where it aims to provide a cost effective alternative to android and Nokia Ash.
The ZTE device known as “the open” will have a GHz qualcomm chip, 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of built in storage.
The O/S will integrate with both Twitter and Facebook and also support Nokia maps. Spanish users will also get a 4 GB SD card to provide some additional storage as the base unit isn’t overly blessed with space.
