A business advisory company headquartered in Edinburgh recently outsourced all IT support and consultancy services to HW Technology. The firm was looking to engage a progressive and consultative partner to handle technology challenges and improvements going forward.
Due to the growth of the business, it was felt that their existing provider were unable to provide the levels of knowledge and expertise they needed in the longer term.
During the initial discussions with HWT Director Mark Burgess, the business had a number of urgent requirements to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. It was clear the business needed additional guidance on business sensitive issues whilst also looking at longer-term planning.

An initial onboarding and discovery phase was undertaken and all critical issues were identified and rectified allowing the business to remain compliant. Improved security and access controls have also been deployed to allow staff at a secondary site the ability to access core business information.
Additional planning has taken place to help map the businesses journey over the next 12 – 36 months and allow for expansion and growth when required.
Communication has been key to enable a smooth transition, honest advice has been at forefront of building the relationship and all key stakeholders have been pleased with the results.
Now the business is fully utilising the helpdesk and support services at HWT, an improvement in support times and productivity have been achieved. Add to this improved change management and software update support, the client is happy with the current situation of its technology estate. They also have a clear plan in place with their technology for the foreseeable future.
