Plus Sage launches 50c on a subscription only model.
From 28 February 2017 (just days away), Sage will no longer sell (or upgrade) their flagship 50 accounts software on a perpetual basis. They will then move to a subscription-only basis for the software from 1 March 2017.
If you want to upgrade your software on a perpetual licence basis then you must act soon.
For businesses that use their 50 Accounts software for many years without upgrading, act now. You should strongly consider upgrading to Sage 50 2017 immediately. This will be the last time you can upgrade your software on a perpetual basis.
Perpetual licences often save over 400% during the life of the software compared to subscription. They are often incredibly good value compared to the new subscription only model.
HW Technology can reduce the cost further, by up to 10%.
As a Sage Business Partner, HWT have an extension until 31 March 2017. But beyond this date, only the subscription model will be available.
HWT have been aware that this may be the case. For our support clients, we’ve made sure that they are kept abreast of these developments.
As of 23 January 2017, Sage have also launched their latest product – 50c. This is a cloud enabled version of 50 Accounts that ties in with Office 365 and provides a number of additional cloud centric features.
It also changes the model for user licences and company licences. This now has just two tiers of user-licensing (1 or 20) and automatically allowing 10 company data-sets without additional cost. If you do have large user-numbers and companies then 50c does make a lot of sense.
50c is based on 50 Accounts, so those familiar with the software won’t get any surprises. Functionality is expanded specifically for cloud use but the core product remains the same.
