The new family of Intel Core processors will have around 50% more battery life than that of the older models. The processors have been designed with tablets and laptops as the primary consumer of the new chips.
The performance of the chips hasn’t been put at risk by extending battery life. The improvements are important as ARM currently monopolize the tablet and mobile markets and have a much lower power foot print.
PC sales are slumping worldwide as consumers are looking at more efficient mobile computing solutions. The new range of processors are looking likely to be unveiled in early June.
