Research from analyst company Forrester has revealed some major changes in the way people work. A Larger number of companies now allow employees the ability to pursue flexible working arrangements. People are increasingly working form home or from local coffee shops as employers understand the benefits it gives.
Around 25% of 10,000 polled said they worked from home at least 1 day a week according to Forester’s latest survey. This is up from around 18% in 2010.
It is also evident that more people are also working from public places with around 12% of the survey confirming this.
Improvements in connection speeds and security have helped but the main driver is improved IT systems such as better networks and cloud based systems / hosted systems allowing easy access to data from anywhere at at anytime.
