Although Cable internet access is normally much faster than standard DSL connectivity many end users are not actually getting the speed they think they are.
Average DSL users get around 5.4Mbps compared to the 13Mbps an average cable customer might see. The main issue is that DSL delivers a higher percentage of its top speed for longer than that of cable connections. It seems that ISP’s may have something on their cable network that causes bottlenecks more than the DSL networks they have in place.
