Rumour has it that Apple has started production on the latest iteration of the iPhone, likely to be named iPhone5S. According to the many rumours it will come with a faster processor, better camera, fingerprint sensor and the same display size as the current iPhone 5. If we are to believe some rumours then it will be released with a lower-cost sibling in June to be shipped in July or August.
The rumours indicate it will have the same size display as the iPhone 5 and will weigh 112grams and will be 7.6mm thin – the same as the iPhone 5. Not surprisingly it will have the same metal case as the current top-of-line iPhone 5 and be offered in two colour choices – probably the same ‘black & slate’ and ‘white & silver’. The as-yet-unnamed less spiffy version is rumoured to be made of plastic and fibreglass and maybe available in up to six different colours, it will be heavier weighing in at 130grams and slightly thicker at 8.2mm.
We are expecting to see the new iPhone to be powered by the new A7 chips baked in a 28-nanometer process. The camera being discussed is based on LED technology using both a white and yellow LEDs to improve the white balance and produced by Sony with a low-light capability of f2.0.
It is expected that the release will coincide with the launch of the new iOS7 in June, this would be less than year from the release of the iPhone 5 last September, perhaps this is to avoid allowing competitors room to gain market share with their latest releases or perhaps because the new version is based on the current iPhone 5 allowing development to be reduced.
