Lloyds Banking Group are the latest high profile casualty of an IT glitch. Yesterday thousands of customers of Lloyds Banking Group encountered difficulties using debit cards. It is estimated over 7000 cash machines were affected by the outage and many people had problems using debits cards within stores as well.
Although a pain services resumed after about 3 hours which is a much better response than the recent issues at RBS late last year. It may well be the old legacy systems still run by a majority of banks are now becoming the issue. With technology moving fast and the demand for better services the possibility of more problems is only going to occur more frequently.
