The Client
In 2019, we began working with accountancy firm James Todd & Co. They currently employ over 20 people, across two offices based in West Sussex. They had been referred to us by an existing legal client who we had been working with for several years.
The IT Challenge
From the moment we initially engaged with James Todd & Co, it was apparent there were many issues with the current IT infrastructure. It certainly didn’t work for them, nor would it help them to achieve the business goals. Data and applications had been split due to system limitations, with the on-site servers and the internet connections weren’t fit for purpose.
Consequently, the management team needed to drive between offices to be able to perform particular tasks and access data. For example, the main practice management suite Iris could only be accessed in the main office.
Furthermore, James Todd & Co required more flexibility to enable fee earner to move around offices, work at home or client sites, as and when required. Alongside this, the business also wanted to improve security, backups, and disaster recovery.
