We’ve have been working with Lifting Gear since their inception in 2007, providing general IT support, consultancy and advice. After years of continuous growth from 5 – 35+ users and expanding from a single site to 10 the original systems and servers installed needed to be replaced.
Mark Tunstall (HWT) met with the Directors of the company to discuss server requirements and it was important to also look at the locations and how the business was becoming more integrated. Furthermore they did not want to be limited by the IT systems in place and wanted the ability to expand and grow without replacing the system every few years. The appropriate solution was identified and a hosted desktop system was chosen as the preferred solution.
What we did…
The team at HW Technology migrated the business from a local server based solution to a fully hosted desktop system that also incorporated hosted email. The businesses productive applications were migrated to the new platform and all data was restored to the new systems over a weekend. This reduced downtime to a minimum and the business was back up and running by the end of the weekend.
